All units purchased from us have the latest software and high-power battery installed. If you bought an older (Voice Logic) version of the VoicePro elsewhere, you can upgrade the software and the battery below.
Software chip upgrade: Update an old unit purchased elsewhere with the latest software version by replacing the two software chips inside the unit. You can use function 92 to find out what software version you have installed. The latest is 2.021.
Memory chip upgrade: Increase your voice storage to four or eight hours by replacing the two 1-hour memory chips with one or two 4-hour memory chips.
Battery upgrade: Add extended life to older units with a high-power 1.3 AmpHour maintenance-free rechargeable lead-acid battery. A dead battery that does not take a charge may cause the system to repeatedly reset itself. You can test this by unplugging the VoicePro. If the yellow light does not blink, then you have a dead battery. Same size battery fits all VoicePro units. Just reuse the existing red/black connection wires.
