any customers who buy the VoicePro Small Office Phone System
ask for recommendations for telephones to use for a small business.
Any analog single-line phone is all you need because the
VoicePro gives each phone a multi-line capability. So there is no need for multi-line phones.
Standard analog single-line phones are the only type you need for
hosted PBX services as well. There is no need to buy expensive telephones for the VoicePro.
If you want a message waiting light, you need a phone that has a 90 volt message waiting light. That is the standard msg light that works for message notification. The VoicePro can use stutter dial-tone to indicate that you have messages if you don't have the proper message light on your phone.
The VoicePro is designed to give multi-line access to standard single line phones. For that reason multi-line phones are not recommended.
If you still want to use multi-line phones with the VoicePro, you may be thinking to connect 2 or 4 extensions to one phone. You may have a good reason for this, but then you MUST not use the features built into the phone for "on hold" or "conference" because the VoicePro has these features itself and it will not know that you are using them on the phone. It will therefore fail to work properly because the phone will override the intelligence of the VoicePro. You will end up having issues with confusion of functions controlled by both the VoicePro and of the phone.

Cortelco 221000
The Cortelco Colleague 221000 is a corded single line phone with a 90v msg light, Caller-ID display and 10 speed-dial buttons on the right side.The angle of the Caller-ID display can be adjusted for easy viewing.
Calls can be answered by picking up the handset or pressing the speakerphone button.
Cortelco Colleague 2201
The Cortelco Colleague 2201 is also a corded single line phone with a 90v msg light.
M9116 Platinum
This phone has a 90V/FSK Msg Waiting light, Caller-ID display and speed-dial.
TeleMatrix IP100 Black
The Telematrix is a single line PBX compatible telephone with a 90v msg waiting light.
Cortelco ITT-2500
This is a standard 2500 desk set with a 90v Message Waiting light.
AT&T Corded Speakerphone (CL2939)
The photo is misleading. The display looks like it has a back light. It only is visible by reflected room light. Other than that this is a nice single line corded phone for the price.
Fanstel Single Line Business Professional Amplified Speakerphone
The Fanstel Single Line phone is a professional phone for the business environment. It has a built-in speakerphone, which has a high amplification which auto sets the volume, making it work well for conferences with other people in the room. It has a 99 Number Phonebook Directory with Name Search capability, and four Programmable Memory Buttons.
Avaya Definity 6221 Corded phone
All the Avaya 6200 series telephones have a small footprint, useful for small desks. But they are wall-mountable as well. They are available in gray or white.
Cortelco 2500 - Corded phone - light ash
Cortelco make this 2500 set, which is the old industry standard. It's a solid phone for heavy-use environments. Unlike those old phones, Cortelco has included hearing-aid capability, a ringer volume control, and a message waiting light.
NEC Single-line phone Black
This is a simple yet sturdy single-line black phone with four programmable speed-dial buttons as well as keys for redial and flash.
Viking Electronics Universal Message Waiting Light
Here is a solution if you have a phone that does not have a message waiting light.Instead of using stutter dial tone on the VoicePro to indicate that you have a message, you can add the Viking Electronics Universal Message Waiting Light in-line with the wire to the phone.
We tested this and it works great. When you have voicemail waiting for you, the bright flashing light is very noticeable.
