I Can Help You Publish Your Paperback Book

I have personally created and published several manuals for our products and I have also published two books sold in bookstores. Having had this experience I can now help you get your book in print and even into the bookstores and libraries as I have done.

  Did you write a manuscript and want to see it in print?

I can create a Perfect-Bound 6" x 9" or 5" x 8" Paperback book from your manuscript. I will do this in one of two ways...
  1. I will quote you a fee for the work once I know the details of your book and what you want and you can order them at the publishers cost.
  2. Or I will do it for free and you order the books at a higher per-book cost whenever you need them
Either way, you'll know the costs before you decide if you want to proceed and you can buy your books in any quantity after I'm done.

What You Get

I will provide the complete service to publish your manuscript. This service includes formatting your manuscript into a print-ready PDF file. Cover Creation (front and back) using art you may optionally provide. If you do not have cover art, I will design a good-looking color cover for you at our option.

What's The Cost?

I will publish your book at a reasonable cost to you for the labor! Expect around $300 for cover design and up to 150 pages. Additional pages may increase the cost. But I may offer to do it for free at my discretion and add an extra cost to the single copies you buy later. If I chose to do that, I will give you both options and you can choose which works better for you.

Here is a rough idea of the cost of the books. But check with me as I may be able to offer you lower pricing when I know what I'll be doing for you. Just as a sample, the per copy price to order your completed book(s) is based on the following formula...

There is a $10.00 fixed charge for the color cover, binding and print processing. Add to that 9¢ per page (minimum 40 pages).

Examples: A 50-page 6x9 bound paperback with a color cover is $14.50. A 120-page 6x9 bound paperback with a color cover is $20.80. A 300-page 6.6" x 10.3" bound paperback with a color cover is $37.00.

What I Need From You

Please read carefully what I do for you and what you need to provide to me so that I can complete your book properly. Also please read the "Terms & Conditions" below...

You need to send me your manuscript as a MS Word Document or a plain text file. You can also send me artwork for your front and rear covers, but this is optional. I will design a good-looking color cover for you. I will use your artwork if provided. Cover artwork needs to be JPG, GIF or PNG files.

Your manuscript must be spell-checked and proofread. What you send me is considered approved by you and I am not responsible for grammatical errors or spelling errors that are in your document. I simply will use your text exactly as you provide it. I will not proofread your text. I will simply reformat it for proper page formatting throughout the book.

What You Get From Me

I will prepare, format and publish your manuscript as follows:

Generally one double-spaced 8.5" by 11" manuscript page becomes about 1.5 to 2 pages in a final 6x9 paperback book with one-inch margins and 12 pt font size in Times New Roman.

I will complete your book within 30 days after you send all supporting material. I will assume that once you send me your manuscript, it is your final copy. If you want to revise it, you will need to pay for extra time unless I did not start the work yet. So please only send me your manuscript when you know it is ready for publishing.

I will create a good-looking color cover for your book and I will send you a jpg image copy by email for your approval. You may, at your option, provide a ready-to-use front and back image or images to incorporate into the final cover design. See "Cover Art" note below.

After I complete your book, it will be published and available for purchase on-line any time you choose. I will give you a web link direct to a secure order page on our publisher's site. You can order direct via that link. Those orders cover printing and publishing costs. Remember, this service is for creating the published book, not for printing. You pay for the books you order as noted above under "What's The Cost". But I will give you an exact cost-per-copy before you commit to anything.

Cover Art

I will create a good-looking color cover for your book. However, if you want to provide a ready-to-use file for the front and/or rear covers, you will need to create it in the proper format as follows...

Types of Covers

There are three options for the cover of your book. Paperback, Casewrap, and Jacket Cover.

Paperback is soft covered. Casewrap has the cover image printed right on the hard cover. Jacket Cover has a separate paper cover around the hard-covered book. Cover art is printed on the jacket. The jacket has flaps that wrap inside the front and rear covers. Short text info can be printed on the front and rear flaps.

Copyright

We will only accept works that are your own creation. It must be your own, original book. You must state that you own all copyright to any material provided for publication.

You will continue to own the copyright to your book. We will include the standard copyright page in the front of the book (opposite the title page) with your name as you specify.

What is NOT included

This service does not include assignment of an ISBN number nor listing in Bowkers Books in Print. See "ISBN Numbers" below for more info on this optional service.

This service does not include any printed books. If you want any printed books after we complete our work, you will need to order them direct from our publisher. Your completed book may be purchased direct from our publisher over and over again in any quantity.

It will be up to you to purchase and market your books.

You will have the right to purchase as many books as you want, at any time and in any quantity. Then you can sell your books at any price you want and make a profit, give them as gifts, or use as you wish. If you do not purchase any at all for six months, our publisher reserves the right to remove your book from availability.

ISBN Numbers (optional)

If you later decide to have your book listed with on-line booksellers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Borders, you can have a Global ISBN number assigned. This is totally optional. The ISBN is assigned by the U.S. ISBN Agency so your book is listed in Bowkers Books-in-Print, and a bar code for your ISBN number will be included on the rear cover. For $800, we will open an account under your name with our publisher so you get the royalties on bookstore retail sales paid direct to you from our publisher. We will resubmit the book information under your account, apply for an ISBN number and list the book at a retail price you choose. You are free to go to any other publisher at any time.

This price covers our publisher's charge for ISBN assignment and our charge for this service. And we will no longer get anything after this transition. All royalties will go to you if you purchase an ISBN number for your book. And remember, this charge is only if you want your book to be listed by national booksellers. You can decide to do this at any time in the future.

Guarantee

Once I schedule your book and you provide all supporting material, I guarantee your book will be published and available within 30 to 90 days for purchase from our publisher's web site. Actual time is based on how much work is involved with your book.

Terms & Conditions

This offer is for publishing service only. I provide the service of publishing your book from your manuscript and cover art you may optionally provide.

PUBLISHER'S RETURN POLICY: Because of the production expense of print on demand manufacturing, our publisher cannot cancel orders, accept returns or provide refunds on books once you place your order for printed copies. Therefore you should buy only one copy the first time after completion so that you can review it and know you are happy with it. I will be glad to make one-time changes to correct anything you don't like. But the cost of proof copies remains yours. We are giving you a tremendous service. So the least we can ask is that you pay for any proof or final copies you may decide to purchase afterwards.

Prices and terms for publishing are subject to change.

I can only accept requests on a first come, first serve, basis, as my schedule allows. Please allow two to three weeks for actual printing after final completion of our work.

We reserve the right to deny service to use content we find inappropriate.
